Shabby Chic Doilies and Placemats

While being very busy with my little baby boy, I have been hard at work crocheting some custom items. Although it's a little difficult to combine work and mommyhood, I think we are getting the hang of it.

After the holidays I was happy to get back to work, and boy I have been busy. I have photographed some of the finished items. Here are a few of them:

10" Doily to match my best selling coaster set pictured here in off white 100% cotton.

16.5" white placemats. I offer the same in my shop in a smaller size, find them here.

I'm still working on some colorful coasters and baskets. I'll post photos as they are finished. Now I have to get back to work before the baby wakes up.

Thanks for visiting!

Tea parties and chocolate chip cookies

I have been very busy getting to know my little baby boy who arrived on November 15th, but not too busy to work on these pink placemats for a customer in Australia. I used my Alicia pattern in them and crocheted them in country pink cotton. They are perfect for a springtime tea party with some homemade chocolate chip cookies ( I don't know how I had time to make them ).

I am really hoping my customer will like the placemats. I plan to make them available in my shop in off white as soon as I'll have some time to make them and take some photos. But right now my little Hugo is a priority :)

I have used my Marimekko cups in Maalaisruusu-pattern and some Marimekko napkins as props in the photos. Aren't they perfect with the pink?!

Neutral Nursery with White Doily Rug

I have just finished the last custom rug before I put my crochet hook to rest. Our baby is due next Thursday and I'm so happy I was able to get this wonderful pure white doily rug before he decided to enter the world. The rug is 110cm in diameter and the pattern is my Sara. I still have a couple of colorful Sara rugs for sale in my etsy shop that are ready to ship.

This lovely rug is on it's way to Australia since yesterday and I really hope it will be loved.

White Lace in the Nursery

I have to say that making these little baskets with the lace edging is serious fun! I will need to make a set of 3 nesting baskets to sell in my shop as soon as I will again have time. This white basket in the photos is for a customer of mine who is going to use it as a christening card basket and later on in the nursery. What a great idea!

I love to use these baskets all around the house. They also make great covers for flower pots.

Taking time off to get ready for my baby boy

My baby boy is due to arrive in a month and it's about time for me to take some time off from my boutique to get ready for my baby. I have put up a vacation notice to Henna's Boutique on etsy and to my boutique's Facebook page. Please make your orders before October 15th!

Pink Baskets and Teddybears

My basket creating continues. This time I made three lace edge baskets for a customer of mine in Ohio. She custom ordered two country pink baskets and one off white basket. I made them in 9" width and 5.5" height to fit her daughter's nursery.

As you can probably see in the photos, I took the photos in my baby boy's nursery (due in November). I will need to make some blue baskets for myself now that I saw how well they fit to cubbies in his closet. You can fill the baskets with all sorts of cuteness, little socks, mittens, caps etc. And why not use these baskets on the changing table (I don't have one yet, have to get busy...)

This basket can be found in a smaller size in my shop Henna's Boutique. To custom order a bigger size or different color, contact me thought my shop.

Flower petals and rose cups

I have been working on a crochet rug with flower petals and it has been taking me a long time. The rug is still not finished, but I fell in love the look of the flower petals that I decided to try to use them differently.

I wanted to make placemat and coaster sets with a flower petal edging. It proved to be a real neat detail in my otherwise very simple placemats and coasters. The sets were a lot of fun to crochet and I think they turned out gorgeous. They bring a little bit of romance to my dining table, the rose cup setting might help a bit too.

You can find both of the sets at my etsy shop Henna's Boutique
